In part of the company’s strategy to stay closer to clients, Infosys has opened a new development centre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA), which will be a training centre, in addition to providing its global clients with access to its system integration and consulting business.  Infosys currently gets around 70% of its revenues from US clients.

Infosys currently counts Harley Davidson as a client and plans to support outsourcing services to the company for five years.  This development centre is said to seat 125 Infosys employees who will be servicing HD in areas such as software applications, IT infrastructure support and other services.

“Milwaukee, which is located in the mid-western region in the US, is a key region for Infosys to support its global clients,” said Ashok Vemuri, Head of Americas and Board Member, Infosys.

In the first quarter of this fiscal, S. D. Shibulal, CEO of Infosys, said the company had added 1,000 people and hired 1,200 people in FY12 fiscal.  However, India’s IT sector is feeling increased pressure from US companies who are delaying their outsourcing decisions due to the US presidential elections.
